With low pressure crossing the southern British Isles this weekend, a canopy of moderate to heavy rain along with gusty winds will sweep across England and Wales. The worst of the weather will be Saturday while Sunday will be a much better, drier day. As for Northern Ireland and Scotland, expect sun and showers along with a fresh westerly breeze.

As we head into next week, the remnants of Gaston comes up and merges with another depression, becoming a large and deep storm system south of Iceland. As this system deepens so this ridge gets pumped over Europe forcing warmer air into the UK.
Because of the low south of Iceland and high over the near continent, the western edge of the UK will be beneath the separation between low and high. Exact positioning is key but at this moment in time it looks like only the far west and northwest of Scotland and Northern Ireland feel the influence of the front while much of the UK is under bright, sunny, warm conditions.
As we progress through next week, winds turn more SSE rather than SW and so expect temperatures to rise. The GFS sees 27C over the east Midlands, possibly 22/23C in southern Scotland which is pretty decent.
NO POST TOMORROW. NEXT UPDATE WILL BE MONDAY.
