Warmest day of the year for many yesterday across UK and Europe!
Another warm one today for UK and continent but thunderstorms once again blossom late morning and through the afternoon as a front draped over the North Channel enhances humidity and instability. Strong surface heating will react to the energy and ignite lively thunderstorms over many parts of the UK, particularly North and West.
11.20am and already 24C at Aviemore as well as parts of Midlands, interior South, widely low 20s. High octane fuel for popcorn cumulus shooting vertically into towering cumulonimbus within an hour or two.
Humidity level quite high and so it’s feeling closer to 30C in several places.
It was a lively night over Northern Ireland.
Nice light show over Belfast last night.
Met Office have a yellow be aware warning for rain.
Not just UK, the VERY lively storms continue to rumble on over the continent.
Tropical Storm Colin is now departing the US East Coast and set to be positioned between Iceland and Scotland this weekend. A game changer!
