A big range in temperature and weather over Italy yesterday all courtesy of a potent low spinning over the north of the country. From sub freezing highs and heavy snow in the Alpine communities of the north to summer-like 30s along the southern Adriatic coast and Sicily. In between, flooding rain, hail, gusty wind, lightning and even tornadoes.

After a poor start to the Open in Paris, looks drier and warmer mid to late week.

Looking pretty decent for the 4 day long Chelsea Flower Show also but shower chances increase Friday.

Late week and through the bank holiday weekend, looks like low pressure enhances the shower and thunderstorm risk over Spain, France extending into the Southern UK but depending on exact position of the low over either France or Low Countries, we may import warmer, more humid continental air or cooler air blowing off Denmark across a chilly North Sea.
The showers and thunderstorms which return to France are inevitably going to bring weekend disruption to the Open once again.
