Icelandic Trough Returns And So Does Wind & Rain To UK, Heat & Sun To Iberia

As highlighted in recent days, if you don’t like cool, cloudy, wet and windy, Southern and Eastern Spain is your best bet this weekend and through next week with the warmest weather of the year on the way.

The last 10 days has seen a settled UK, unsettled Spain thanks to the weak Azores but strong Icelandic high but the strengthening Icelandic low, the jet and low pressure train returns to the UK which allows the Azores high re-strengthen and bring summer to Portugal, Spain and western Med.

GFS 12z 2 metre temps day by day show the warming trend over southern and eastern Iberia with 30s running up Spain’s Med Sea Coast next week. Warmest days will occur when low pressure approaches the UK and SW winds increase. Terral winds will enhance warming to the coast. Great news for Alicante, Benidorm up to Salou.
