Written by on May 6, 2016 in Spring 2016, United States of America with 0 Comments

Those hoping for a BBQ Mothers Day weekend, your in luck across the majority of the South but for the Plains and West? Not so much! It’s looking unsettled across the West with showers or longer spells of rain but stormy in the Central US. A thanks to the latest Pacific storm pushing through the Rockies which will once again spark flooding rainfall and severe weather with snow back in Colorado and Wyoming’s high country.

As shown in this morning’s US video, this pattern remains driven by the weakening El Nino with a lot of rain expected across a large swathe of the Lower 48 over the next couple of weeks.

Notice there’s no real dry areas but focus of rainfall is west to east through the central swathe of the country and that suggests no major heat.

More Western mountain snow can be expected with this pattern.
