The first in a series of strong, moisture rich and cold Pacific storms crossed California this past weekend. While that system clears eastward today, the next can be seen approaching below.

It’s been an active weekend of weather throughout California and much of the West with heavy low level rains and heavy snowfall in the Sierra which even forced the closure of I-80 over Donner Summit.

As today’s system exits, the storm track briefly lifts north allowing Southern California to dry out and warm up but by the end of the week, the next system brings a return of rain all the way to SD.
