A sprawling storm system connecting Mexico with Canada brought two very different types of weather between Midwest and East. On the cold side, heavy snow, even blizzard conditions buried parts of the Lower Midwest while warm, moist air and intense upper energy brought a multiday severe weather outbreak from Louisiana to Florida up to Massachusetts.

Virginia was hit bad! By 2 deadly tornadoes yesterday, 1 an EF1 and the other an EF3.
This week’s tornado outbreak spawned 52 tornadoes, among the most February history.
Highway 295 in Baltimore yesterday.
With warm, moist air and severe thunderstorms typically comes, warm temperatures.
Here’s Massachusetts temps late this afternoon. Low 60s all the way into southern New Hampshire.
Last time there was a severe thunderstorm warning issued in February for western Mass was 19 years ago. (1997)
As for the Midwest snowfall, well I guess it pales in comparison to the severe weather and tornadoes in the East, after all you expect heavy snow in February, not tornadoes in the Mid-Atlantic!
Nonetheless, this is impressive.
