NEXT WEEK: Record Cold, Record Warm & First Major Rockies Snowstorm To Open November

Written by on October 28, 2015 in Autumn 2015, United States of America with 0 Comments

While this week has it’s share of extremes with flooding rain, gales, snow etc, the pattern goes wild next week as the PNA goes negative and NAO goes Positive with major amplification.

We could see record cold in the West and record warmth in the East as November commences. Let’s not forget the first major snowfall for the Rockies and West too as a big wind, rain and snow maker sweeps into the Pacific Northwest and helps force the deepening of the Western trough and pumping of the Eastern ridge in response.

Unfortunately Texas looks likely to see another flooding rain event this weekend though nowhere near as severe as last weekend.

The system that was once Patricia looks to lay down an inch or two, locally 6+” of snow over parts of MN/WI, MI over the next couple of days.

We’ll likely see the first -10s in the high plateaus of the Rockies with this air mass next week.

Check out the increase in snow coverage in the West and even Plains through the next 10 days.
