Since the last US post yesterday, we now have Tropical Storm Joaquin spinning east of the Bahamas. This looks to support a secondary tropical invasion into the East Coast following the first soaking through the next 24-36 hrs. The first system lifts up through the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast but another southeastbound cold front looks set to lift out over the Atlantic and essentially pull the rich tropical moisture from TS Joaquin into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast by this weekend.

Note the cold trough and storm over southern Alaska and another trough sitting along the Gulf Coast. A system will run up the coast bringing flooding rain as it connects with a cold front dropping out of the Great Lakes.
