Hope In Sight For Scotland and Ireland Next Week, Remaining Hot Across Continent

Live in Scotland, Ireland or northern England, take note, it looks like we’ve FINALLY got some warm and more settled weather coming next week.. Yippy!

As for the here and now first, well it’s a decent Friday for most with sun and scattered showers. Remaining cool for NI Ireland and Scotland but the warmth is building for SE England latest warm surge of summer. How warm? We’re talking a degree or two up each of the next several days. Possibly 25C in London today (widely 21+) but by Sunday or Monday we could be widely 24+ and knocking on the door of 30C in the Greater London area.

Late Saturday, cloud, wind and rain spreads across NI, Scotland as the latest front drives in from the NW but it comes up against a fair well established high pressure field and therefore expect it to stall. This will allow borderline hot weather to develop for the South, Southeast of England during Monday and then it slides down but with no rain associated.

The continent during this weekend looks to remain on the hot side. Fine, dry and sunny beneath a large ridge. Widespread upper 20s/low 30s for many including Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin etc.

As we progress into early next week, the model takes a system into N Spain and France from the Bay of Biscay. This will trim back the heat but to the north, high pressure builds across Ireland central England north into Scotland and with strong August sun and light winds, temperatures are going to rise. Likely into the upper teens, low 20s by Thursday. Does it last? No.
