Rain was in fact turning over to heavy wet snow on my drive home early this morning.

Good news is the snow never lasts long at this time of the year but is it uncommon for March?

No!

As pointed out yesterday, expect a much more wetter, windier setup as we end this week.

Friday starts clear and cold with a widespread frost but the next system arrives later in the day.

Notice the GFS has a more southerly track with cold air over central and northern UK.

Another low follows hot on it’s heels and this is further north.

This system carries some weight with it. Heavy rain and gales, severe gales on coast and high ground.

In less than 24 hours, that system clears and the next arrives early Sunday!

Cold NW flow follows into Monday, Tuesday.
