    Hi Mark!
Certainly can vouch for unusual weather for Nashville. First a few brief hours of ice storm and then the rest of the night and morning ruled by a snow storm which left aa few surprising inches of packed fresh powder covering everything and drifting into near ski-resort worthy landscapes all around us.

On our little hill which overlooks the Nashville skyline from the West and is at an altitude of about 880′ compared to lower lying streets at about 420′ we got a healthy 5-6″ and more but the lowlands were not spared and topped out about 3″ in places at the height of the action.

The city was very quiet compared to normal with even major businesses only open for a few short hours if at all. The city streets seemed tricky for drivers not accostumed to slippery conditions and even the Interstate freeways carried far less traffic.

During the long ice-slippery, snow-ruled, and frigid cold dominated hours (6F for aa morning low) – until nearly Satuday noon – when things began to move back towards normal – drifting snow seemed to cover everything with at least a couple of inches. The dreamy world of Nashville being showered by beautiful fluffy wind-blown huge perfect snow flakes in early March will live on in our memories for a long time to come.
