Well I started off writing this morning’s post yesterday afternoon but I’ve had to scrap it and write-up based on what I’m seeing.

Firstly we continue to see significant warming at 50mb around the pole and the weakening/stretching of the PV. This below, is the hallmarks of an approaching SSW event and models may be seeing something.

ECMWF shows the development and expansion of a mature Scandinavian blocking high and with a trough deepening out over the Atlantic, THIS is somewhat of a colder signal for the UK and Ireland but I still think we’ve a little more time to wait but for folks such as RyanJ in the Netherlands, well he may be seeing snow within the next 10 days. For me, right now… I think the first 2 weeks of December may finally bring us winter.
