US Cold/Snow Update No 2

Written by on November 1, 2014 in United States of America with 0 Comments

As previously posted, we’ve got a decent blast of arctic air now driving into the Lower 48. Expect widespread snow flakes with some accumulation over parts of the Ohio Valley and particularly over the mountains of the Carolinas, Virginias up into PA and eventually New England.

As well as the snow, it sure is cold for the time of year. How cold?

I recon the current arctic blast with the first significant snow is possibly in relation to the recent warming of the stratosphere over Siberia. One may want to watch another burst of warmth just starting. Perhaps more cold and snow heading for eastern areas come mid month?
