Quick look at the pattern highlights as we commence August and the weekend. What have we got going right now?
1) tropical storm bertha
Looks to STAY OFF THE US COAST. Could become a strong storm, produce heavy surf against EC.
2) heavy east coast rain event
With a trough centred over the OH-TN Valley and high pressure (Bermuda high) over the West Atlantic, a tropical flow will bring heavy, potentially flooding rains from Florida to S New England this week. Heaviest rains will be over the coastal Carolinas as per the QPF map for the next 3 days below.
3) look back
Here’s a glimpse at July just gone via AccuWeather. Cool In Midwest, warm in West!
4) look forward
Latest CFSv2 for next 4 weeks.
No US post Saturday but will have a video and write up Sunday. (spending quality time with family)
