While there may not be any cold on the horizon for the UK through the next 7-10 days, there is however mild and wet weather on the way and if you read yesterday’s post, that’s NOT a bad thing at this time of year.
This will be a brief post tonight on Europe as there is simply not that much to discuss. I made mention of my long range ideas in conjunction with the past summer and the current October pattern yesterday and what that may mean for later down the road.
As stated already. There is a decent amount of rain on the way. Plenty fell across Ireland, Northern Ireland as well as England and Wales last night and today and it’s Scotland’s turn tonight. More heavy rain works north come tomorrow night into Friday and it’s all thanks to a large low pressure system spinning over a huge area of the northeast Atlantic that swinging these arms of heavy rain across Ireland, the UK and western Europe. This Atlantic system will continue to pump warmth and moisture into Ireland and the UK well into next week.
As for Scandinavia, it’s turning colder and there is snow on the way.

It’s a fight between the cold Scandinavian trough and Iberian ridge. The ridge to the south and low to the southwest of the UK win..
