Scotland

It’s a quiet end to what has been a rather uneventful day across the country. Tonight will see an area of rain push into the West Highlands but for most it’s dry with clear spells and with those clear spells, expect temperatures to drop down to around 10C in towns and cities, perhaps 6-8C in rural areas where a few mist and fog patches may form.

Wednesday is looking very similar to today with the overnight rain confined to the Northwest Highlands dying out, it’s a mix of sun and cloud with just a few showers dotting the landscape. Highs like today will climb to between 17-20C.

Plenty of afternoon sunshine and perhaps a touch warmer Thursday.

England

It’s a fine end to the day throughout England with a few lingering showers in a few spots but overall there should be some decent spells of sunshine to end the day. Overnight tonight remains clear and fairly cool compared to recent weeks under clear skies. Lows in towns and cities dip down to between 10-15C, possibly 6-9C in rural areas.

Wednesday is looking much like today with a mix of sun and cloud and just an odd shower dotted around. Highs range from 17 to 23C.

Thursday is another very pleasant late summer day with plenty of warm sunshine and highs of 19-24 or 25C.

Wales

It’s a largely fine, dry end to Tuesday across the country with just an odd shower here and there. Through the overnight hours and skies clear out and that means a cool down as the air mass overall is cooler than what we’ve seen in recent weeks. Expect lows of 10-15C in towns and cities, rural areas 7-9C.

Wednesday like today will be mainly fine, dry and sunny with a few afternoon showers developing. Highs of 17-21C.

Thursday is looking like a carbon copy of today and tomorrow, perhaps a little less chance of a shower and a fraction warmer at 22C in Cardiff.

Northern Ireland

It’s been a showery afternoon across many parts, particularly in central, western and northern areas with the best of the dry, bright weather down towards Newry. Overnight tonight and a band of rain spreads across the Northwest while it’s mainly dry, even clear towards the East. Lows dip to between 9-15C.

Tomorrow like today will see plenty of showers develop through the morning and into the afternoon but there should also be sunny spells, especially in the East and Southeast where highs may again approach 20C.

More sunshine and showers Thursday with similar temperatures.

Ireland

It’s a well and truly sunshine and showers regime across Ireland with some of those showers clumping together to make for longer spells of rain. Tonight will see those showers continue with a band of more persistent rain hugging the Atlantic coast, spreading across the far North. Lows tonight 9-15C.

Wednesday will see more sunshine and showers with highs again reaching 17-21C.

Similar sort of day Thursday but with fewer showers, more in the way of sunshine and temperatures a touch warmer.
