Scotland

After a warm, muggy afternoon across Scotland with highs widely in the 18-21C range, this evening will be largely uneventful with sunshine giving way to starry skies. Lows tonight dip no lower than 8-10C for most, a few sheltered spots may dip to 6 or 7C with mist and fog.

Wednesday is looking much the same as today with a mix of sun and cloud with any rain confined to the Highlands, Hebrides and Northern Isles. Highs should once again push 21 or 22C in the sunnier, sheltered spots, nearer 17-20C for most.

It turns a touch cooler and more unsettled by Thursday.

England

A warm, muggy and for some, showery end to the day across England with temperatures over parts of the Midlands and South holding on to around 20C all the way till sundown. Some heavy showers look likely to intensify over the Southeast overnight thanks to a nearby system and warm, humid air at the surface. Lows tonight will range from 12-15C for most but it may hold up at around 18 or 19C in the Southeast including London.

Tuesday morning should see the overnight showers and storms move out allowing hazy sunshine to appear for most. Temperatures tomorrow should widely climb into the low to mid-20s from the Midlands south and for some urbanised areas of the Southeast, temperatures may approach 30C. Look for 21-23C from Manchester to Carlisle. All this heat and humidity may come at a prize, thunderstorms! These could present localised flooding problems. They may also produce outflow boundaries which cool the atmosphere in surrounding areas. So even in areas of sunshine, temperatures could cool due to outflow from distance or nearby thunderstorms.

It turns wetter and significantly cooler by Thursday.

Wales

It’s been a warm, humid and thundery day across Wales with highs approaching at least 23C for some this afternoon and into tonight, it stays warm with temperatures holding at around 21C in Cardiff till 8pm. Lows widely should hold up at between 10-14C.

Tuesday is another warm, muggy day with a risk of thunderstorms developing through late morning into the afternoon. These will be hit and miss with decent spells of sunshine, but they will be very heavy with thunder and lightning likely if you catch one. Highs should approach 19-22, locally 24-25C again tomorrow.

Turning more unsettled and cooler on Thursday.

Northern Ireland

It’s a warm, mainly bright end to the day across the bulk of Northern Ireland with temperatures reaching 17-20, locally 21 or 22C where the sunshine holds longest. It’s another fine, dry and quiet night with slow cooling in the humid air. Lows eventually dip to between 10-13C, cooler in rural areas.

Tomorrow, like today shall be warm, muggy and mainly dry with just a small chance of an odd shower in the far North where a weak boundary sits near Co Londonderry, may support light rain. Highs range from 16-21, locally 22C tomorrow.

Turning cloudier and slightly more unsettled by Thursday.

Ireland

It’s been a fine day with decent spells of warm sunshine across Ireland this afternoon, highs widely reached the 18-21C mark and tonight under fair skies, temperatures fall away slowly, so it’s a perfect night for a BBQ. Overnight lows dip no lower than 8 or 9C in rural areas where mist and fog may form, closer to 11 or 12C in town and city centres.

After a mild, dry night, it’s another warm day to come Wednesday with a mix of sun and cloud, few showers. Expect highs to once again reach 19-22, locally 23 or 24C in the sunniest spots.

Another decent day Thursday, though it may turn cloudier with an increased risk of showers for some.
