TUE 11 JUNE: UK & IRELAND REGIONAL FORECAST

Written by on June 11, 2013 in United Kingdom & Ireland with 0 Comments

Scotland

The much anticipated rain has arrived and it’s a largely damp afternoon for many, particularly in the West and South, somewhat drier and even brighter up into Aberdeenshire and Moray where the warmest temperatures are.

Through this evening and the rain eases for a time before the next pulse pushes up from the SW. This rain will be heavier and more persistent compared to today and shall sweep across the country. A mild night to come with lows no cooler than 11-13C.

Through Wednesday and the overnight rain should have cleared but another pulse will work into Dumfries and Galloway and across the South, whereas it’s more showery with some brighter spells from the Central Lowlands on north. Highs of 15-17C, perhaps 19C in any longer spells of sunshine.

Wet and windy for a time again Thursday.

England

It’s a very different day across England than of late with much cloudier, showery skies. Highs of 16-19C. Into this evening and it should be a brighter end to the day with late sunshine perhaps before more cloud and light and patchy showers role in overnight. The far North will see a wet night as a pulse pushes in from the Irish Sea. Lows will be well up on last night at between 12-15C with a lot of low cloud around.

Wednesday will be a mainly cloudy day with light, patchy pulses of rain pushing in from the SW but these will produce scattered showers, nothing particularly organised or heavy. Brighter to the east of the Pennines where highs could well top 21, maybe 22C, elsewhere nearer 16 or 18C.

More wet weather to be had Thursday with an increased breeze from the SW.

Wales

The unsettled theme has returned with patchy rain and a lot of cloud pushing up from the south on a fresh southerly wind but that southerly wind is pulling warmer air up so highs are managing 18-20C.

Through tonight and for some, brightness will return allowing for a decent end to the day but more rain will push up from the SW overnight on a fresh SW breeze and this shall cross the country from south to north. It’s a very mild night to come with lows in some spots holding up at 14 or 15C.

Wednesday is looking showery with a few bright spells in the north. Highs of 17-19C thanks to a warm southerly breeze.

Thursday will see more rain and a stronger SW wind.

Northern Ireland

Gone is the glorious sunshine of the past week and a half and it’s back to the unsettled regime once again. Although temperatures are down, it remains fairly mild thanks to a warm SSW air flow. Rains ease through this afternoon but another pulse will push up from the Republic this evening bringing a rather wet night right across the country but it stays mild at 12-14C.

Wednesday will see rain ease through the morning but showers and perhaps some brightness along with a SW breeze will dominate the afternoon. Highs shall top 16-18C.

More wet, breezy conditions with sunny spells in between for Thursday.

Ireland

After all the glorious warm sunshine, it’s back to wet and breezy and through tonight a band of heavy and persistent rain will sweep from SW to NE overnight before clearing by dawn Wednesday.

Wednesday will see an improving picture after a very wet night with sunshine and showers through the afternoon. Highs range from 15-18C.

More rain and wind for Thursday.
