Scotland

It’s a warmer day once again compared to yesterday thanks to sunnier skies, highs widely into the 18-21C range this afternoon although always cloudier, mistier and cooler in the East with an onshore breeze blowing in off the cool North Sea waters.

Tonight is a repeat of the past several with a mix of cloud and clear skies, lows dip to between 4-6C in rural areas where clear pockets develop, nearer 8-10C beneath cloud, always a few degrees warmer in towns.

Tomorrow will be a near repeat of today with the best of the warm sunshine in the West where highs may push 22 or 23C in Glasgow and down towards Dumfries whereas Aberdeen down to Edinburgh will see more of a sun-cloud mix, breezier with highs of 17C in the Capital, nearer 12C at North Berwick.

Always a chance of an isolated pop-up shower and storm over the higher terrain.

Similar conditions take us into the weekend with plenty of sunshine and similar temperatures thanks to the persistent ridge parked overhead.

No appreciable rain in sight till early next week.

England

It’s another warm and sunny afternoon for much of England with highs widely reaching 19-22C but as per usual the North Sea coast is seeing a brisk onshore flow with low cloud, mist and sea fog lapping the shores. Highs on the immediate coast could struggle to make 11 or 12C but head inland where winds are lighter and the sun is out and it’s 10-12C warmer.

Tonight, like most nights over the past 5-7 days will see a mix of cloud and clear spells. Dry pretty much everywhere with lows ranging from 5-12C.

It’s another warm, sunny day Friday with plenty of strong June sunshine on offer, always strongest over the Midlands and West, somewhat more hazy to the east of the Pennines and perhaps downright cloudy with a chilly breeze along the coast. Highs again range from 12C to as warm as 21-23C in many inland towns and cities. Could see 24C locally.

Warmth and sun persists into the weekend with a slight risk of showers lapping the South Coast.

Wales

It’s a perfect summer’s day out there this afternoon right across Wales with temperatures up into the 19-21C range with somewhere over the inland South perhaps eyeing 22 or 23C.

Through tonight it’s a gradual cool down so perfect for a BBQ. Lows eventually dip to between 7-12C with rural mist and fog possible.

Friday is looking identical with nationwide sunshine. Highs, like today should approach 21-22C in the warmest southern spots but perhaps a local 23 or 24C.

Warm and sunny right through the weekend thanks to high pressure. Always breezier and cooler along the coasts.

Northern Ireland

Warm, warm and more warm right across NI with the highest temperatures in all of the UK being recorded in Tyrone yesterday and quite possibly today too. It got up to 24.2C in Castlederg and somewhere may hit the same, perhaps even 25C today. Widely it’s 20-21C with mostly sunny skies, perhaps an odd shower or storm late afternoon due to strong surface heating.

Into tonight and it’s a slow cool down with lows falling back to between 8-10C with mist and fog redeveloping for some rural spots.

Friday and indeed Saturday should be a repeat performance thanks to a strong ridge firmly parked overnight.

Ireland

The best streak of weather this year looks set to continue right the way through the upcoming weekend with no sign of the high breaking down. Warm sunshine to end today with peak temperatures of 19-23C. Through tonight it’s a mix of cloud and clear spells with lows of 6-10C.

Sunshine will once again be in abundance tomorrow with highs once again rising into the 19-23C range.

Similar conditions into the weekend.
