Seattle to Portland Corridor Set For Hottest Weather of Summer!

Well it’s about to get HOT throughout the Pacific Northwest just as points east of the divide start a cooling trend. While some areas stretching from eastern Montana to the Ohio Valley potentially recieve record cool temperatures for August, the Seattle to Portland corridor look on track to recieve record or near record heat and certainly the hottest temperatures of the whole summer.

While Seattle didn’t even reach the 90° mark all of last summer, they’ve caught up with two this month alone but before that, there was no 90s. Before we even get to the weekend, Seattle should add another two to the list.

Thursday and Friday look to be warmest as the ridge pushes all the way up and over the Puget Sound area of Washington. This shuts off the marine influence and allows hot temperatures to spread from the interior, across the Cascades and into Seattle. The high could well reach 95° both Thursday and Friday in Seattle while Portland will eye 100-102°. By the weekend, the core of the heat will shift enough east to allow more of an onshore flow to return and so temperatures will cool back into the 80s.

At this increasingly later stage of summer, folks in this part of the US should enjoy this while it lasts as you know duller, wetter and cooler times are fast approaching!
