Intense Heat Leaves Northeast But Returns To Plains, 110s From KS to ND Next Week?

As you can see from the latest upper charts off the ECMWF, below, the hot air quickly leaves the Northeast following the passing of the cold front which brought quite the lightning show to the Big Cities.

The heat core returns to where it wants to stay and hold. It’s home this summer mid point of summer is the Northern Plains whereas during the first half, it was the Central Rockies. The region west of the divide looks to remain cooler than normal while rains will continue from Texas to Georgia and in turn it should remain cooler than normal too.

110s look to return to the Dakotas, perhaps eastern Montana/Wyoming in the next 5 days while the temperatures should hold back in the 80s for the same time period across the Northeast.

We could see some record breaking intense heat rebuild with Central Plains 110s during early to mid next week and I wouldn’t be surprised to see another run at 100 for Minneapolis to Chicago, eventually back to the Mid-Atlantic!
