I saw this on AccuWeather and thought I should post on this for you to see. This amazing ‘sandstorm’ which was probably a nightmare if you were on the beach here was created by what appeared to be a thunderstorm offshore of Barcelona. According to AccuWeather, winds started out from a southwesterly direction with gusts of 17 mph before turning around to a northeasterly and then really cranking to 25 mph (35 mph according to the BBC). This was sand from the beach and not from the Sahara or any other desert!
