Major Storm Smacks East Coast With Wind, Rain, Snow
1-4 inches of rain falls along coastal plain from Norfolk, VA to Bangor, ME with flooding and some tree damage from 40-60 mph wind gusts. 3-6 inches of snow has fallen and continue to do so!
The storm with it’s center now pushing up through Maine is pumping copious amounts of moisture into the Maritimes but with plenty of wrap around moisture feeding down over the Appalachains on it’s backside, the snow machine, which has already dumped 13.6 inches on Laurel Summit, PA will continue to crank throughout Monday, even into Tuesday. This means that while valley areas start to see the snow, the surrounding mountains will see an additional several inches from Buffalo, NY down to West Virginia.
This storm, overnight brought a drenching 1-4 inches of winddriven rains from Norfolk, VA up through the populated I-95 corridor up to Boston and this plume is now soaking Maine.

Low 1 Of 2 Soaks Southern England/France Today, Wednesday’s System Looking Stronger!!
Today is a rather poor day to be out and about across the southernmost counties of England as well as down across France as the first of two lows sweeps west to east across the channel.
The area of wind and rain should clear Kent and East Anglia this evening and arrive into the Low countries by this evening allowing a better day on Tuesday across the region.
Elsewhere, it’s a sunshine and shower regime thanks to more sunshine but with cold air aloft associated with an upper trough this will continue to support an unstable atmosphere.
While the cold front associated with today’s storm spreads into the Alps during Tuesday, more snow will fall across the higher elevations of France, Austria, Switzerland and even Italy.
