Stubborn ‘Unsettled Pattern’ For Western Europe Looks To Stay Through The Rest Of April
It’s another day of sunshine along with a bubbling up of showers and storms through the pm hours throughout the UK/Ireland. With the current low meandering around the base of the trough over the UK and what looks like another system moving in from the North Atlantic next week, there is no change in the forseeable future to this pattern.
It’s likely we see a rise and fall in both coverage and intensity of shower activity but with each system comes renewed enhanced of this stuck pattern. Only the rise of ‘heights’ in the mid and upper atmosphere will bring a stop to this setup and certainly over the next 10 days, I see no building of heights over western Europe.
However, central and eastern Europe will see warmth push up from Eqypt and the deserts of the Middle East, in fact we may see mid-20s C spread across the Balkans up through Ukraine into Russia. The very areas which suffered the worst of the winter. This warm surge needs to be watched as mountainous areas across this region still has plenty of snow which will start to melt and valley communities may see flooding develop into next week.
