Mild week ahead looks to be followed by winter’s first major cold blast

This weekly look at the UK weather pattern courtesy of the BBC shows well the generally mild Atlantic flow that will dominate our week as high pressure builds in from the southwest. It will be often gloomy with low clouds across most areas. Nights as well as by day look to remain abnormally mild for this time of year, however as this video points out, later this week we will see a return to cooler conditions across northern areas.

Small but weak pules of rain will spread across the northern UK throughout this week but with a much more settled pattern, this is a welcome respite from the weeks of wet and stormy weather.

Major changes are likely next week, so if you think it’s cold perhaps Thursday onwards.. well, next week may be a different story altogether if models are correct.. see below for the details.
