Europe Latest

Stormy Weather continues to impact Northwest Europe

As the upper level steering winds change with the season over Europe, the intense Atlantic jet (racing above our heads at 200+ mph) and a very active storm train now has both the UK and Scandinavia under the gun rather than Iceland

What a difference a year makes as warm weather continues… and forecasters say there is no big freeze on the way
DAILY MAIL

NO BIG FREEZE ON THE WAY, WE’LL SEE!

The pattern is unfolding exactly as I had forecasted months back. I stated that the storm action would increase as we approach December and that many would be falsely laid into believing winter and the cold won’t arrive given what we endured at the close of last November which was unusual and quite exceptional.

If you know your weather patterns, the drivers and outside factors and their influence, then, like me, you’ll feel assured that, by waiting and being patient, things will turn around.

Remember that despite the warm October-November period for much of Europe, nature has a way of finding balance!

No that’s a real DRY ski slope: No snow in Sweden where start of winter has been delayed by a month

US Latest

Unusually Warm in East while winds howl across the Plains

A much more zonal/stormy pattern with no true Arctic air will continue across the Lower 48 into December as the Pacific storm track riding into the Pacific Northwest remains a very active one. Watch as storms ride in and we see warm ups out ahead followed by snowstorms and cold blasts on their backside (but that cold is not Arctic, it’s mixed and modified by Pacific air).
