Severe Weather Threat Area Shifts as Heat Builds across Country

THOSE EASTWARD MOVING LINES OF THUNDERSTORMS THAT CROSSED PENNSYLVANIA AND SURROUNDING STATES LAST NIGHT WILL ONCE AGAIN FIRE UP ALONG THE BOUNDARY THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT, SOME OF WHICH WILL LIKELY TURN SEVERE…

Throughout the course of this weekend, temps will build BIG TIME as the high spreads and intensifies across much of the central and eastern third….

Not only will many Midwest and Ohio Valley Cities see their hottest readings of the year but high humidity will likely raise realfeels into the 100s. What a change from recent times eh?

Severe to exceptional drought continues across Texas and Oklahoma this will aid in hotter surface temperatures than otherwise would be experienced…

Severe Weather from now on should be more confined to the ‘northern states’ as signs are there that higher pressures will start to take charge across the central US and thus push the jet stream north and away from the storm ravaged South and Lower Midwest.

WEATHER TALK

Typhoon Songda Considerably Weaker, but remains a threat to a bruised Nation

Thankfully the combination of influence from the ‘westerlies’, colder waters and eye-wall replacement cycles, as Songda approaches southern Japan the system appears to be continuing it’s weakening trend. This is great news indeed. However, a nation that was hit as devastatingly as Japan was, even a weak system can have big implications on anything from already severely damaged buildings, a crippled economy, infrastructure and this will only worsen the situation of those whos lives have been turned upside down….

We can all hope that Songda continues weakening after it was once a 160ph Super Typhoon and now a relatively modest 98mph Typhoon.
