Heat Wave Grips India, Pakistan
From AccuWeather News

Unusual heat which began across the Indian Subcontinent during March has blossomed into a full-blown heat wave as of the second week in April, and there is no meaningful relief in sight.

Northern and eastern India has borne the brunt of this withering heat as temperatures have topped 110F since Friday in the states of Orissa, Chattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal. Eastern Eastern districts of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra have also suffered, as have the northwestern state of Haryana.

Repeating Rain Coming to the Great Lakes, Mid-Atlantic
From AccuWeather News
Here

Several rounds of drenching rain will visit portions of the Great Lakes and the mid-Atlantic over the next week, disrupting outdoor plans and travel. Where the rain repeats several times minor flooding problems could result.

Surging warm air over the Midwest ramming into relatively cooler air over New England will lead to an atmospheric playground through the weekend. People in this area may want to savor the sunshine when they get it.

Multiple batches of drenching rain and embedded thunderstorms will travel from northwest to southeast.

Areas that get into the “sweet spot” from these atmospheric bombs can be hit with travel slowing rain and even urban and small stream flooding problems. Full article Here

Warm Week from Dallas to Chicago, Nashville
From AccuWeather News

A southerly flow on will continue to pump warm air from Texas to Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee much of this week.

Temperatures averaged several degrees above normal during March and have averaged 10 or more degrees above normal for April so far in much of this area.

Even as normal temperatures continue to race upward as spring progresses, departures from normal will continue to run 10 to 20 degrees above average for another week. In many cases this translates to highs in the upper 70s to the middle 80s.

The extreme warmth that was centered over the eastern part of the nation during the first part of April has shifted farther to the west, now over the middle of the nation.

High pressure funneling the warmth into the middle of the nation will provide sunshine and comfortable conditions for the interior Southeast.

The warmth will allow more people to spend time outdoors. The combination of the warmth and high pollen count may force some people to turn on the air conditioner. The early season warmth accelerates plant growth and the release of tree pollen.

Weather Talk
By Mark Vogan

After Mid-60s, Clear Skies and a blazing sun, Scotland to see decent drop in temperature and increase in cloud, but little rain!

After 3 days of practically cloudless skies and a strong mid-April sun which helped propel temperatures well into the 60s, these wonderful conditions are set to break down with an increase in cloud and drop in daytime high from the mid-60s to likely low to mid-50s… BUT RAIN SHOULDN’T BE AN ISSUE and if we do get some, it is likely to be more scattered and isolated….

This high pressure pattern MAY possibly be the beginnings of a drier pattern which should allow soils to dry out as we appraoch the front end of summer. If this happens and soils significantly dry out, this may well help intensify a likely northward migration of the Azores High which we haven’t seen properly since 2006. If this happens as predicted, we are likely in for some very warm to even potentially HOT weather all the way into the Highlands in June and or July bringing 30s to southern Britain and mid-20s to much of Scotland, away from the immediate coast.. Places like Glasgow City Centre may take a run at 30 to 32 degrees C this summer…
