>Todays Extremes here at my house
High 24 degrees (9.01pm) Low 13 degrees (8.40am)
SNOW: None
Snowcover: 4″
An overnight which saw clear skies from dinner time the previous night to around 1-2am which allowed a steady fall in temperature to a leveling off at around 17 degrees as fog rolled in. However that fog then thinned out and skies became clear once again allowing a further drop into what has become unusually low territory in the warm cycle of the past 10 to 20 years. The low of 13 degrees is likely the coldest since the turn of the millenium or perhaps since winter 2000-2001. The cold start and clear, misty skies brought vert slow recovery throughout the day. Even at 11.45am, the temperature was still only 15 degrees and at 12.50pm only 18 degrees, likely mist but still clear skies allowed less sunshine in and held the temperature lower for longer. Amazingly between 1 and 5pm the temparyre was no higher than 23 degrees even as clouds thickened by late afternoon. Eventually after a day which struggled to warm, we managed to hit the high by 9.01pm at 24 degrees. With heavy cloud and little clear sky to allow the cooling process to kick in tonight, this high is likely to be tomorrow morning’s low.

Christmas Day Forecast, A mostly cloudy day with periods of sunshine, High is 30 degrees, Low 20 degrees
