A day that has remained in the 40s. It started dry with mid and high level clouds and a brisk east wind which eased as cloudiness increased with the arrival of a low and thick cloud deck as rains moved up from the south. Moderate to at times heavy rains have persistent from around noon to present and likely to continue throughout the overnight.
