A large trough drapes across the entire Western United States and drops all the way towards the Mexico border, allowing strong jet stream energy down as far as S. Texas and then pulls northeast across the Plains and up into the Ohio Valley, Lakes and eastern Canada. These roaring upper winds (jet) is drawing down colder air out of the North Pacific and then as these winds turn around Texas, they also pull UP warm, moist air out of the Gulf and Tropics creating the right dynamics for major snows on the north side, severe thunderstorm complexes on the saouth and east side as well as a flux of warmth which will spread northeast ahead of the eastbound front into New England.

A DEEP BASED WESTERN TROUGH, STRONG PACIFIC STORM, COMPLEX UPPER LEVEL DYNAMICS = RAIN AND WIND FOR SEATTLE , HEAVY SNOWSTORM IN DENVER, SEVERE WEATHER ACROSS THE PLAINS & WARMTH INTO NEW ENGLAND

HOUSTON DRENCHING: CROSS ROADS OF IT ALL.
With the vast amounts of soaking rains across Houston and South Texas. It’s location as well as upper air dyanmics is creating a collision with cold air rushing out of the mountains to the west and warm, moist air out of the still warm Gulf is forcing vast amounts of rain as heavy weather breaks out over their heads.

FIERCE UPPER ATMOPSHERE WILL FORCE GALE TO HURRICANE FORCE SURFACE WINDS FROM THE FOUR CORNERS TO L.A.
The deepening trough that drops down over the Four Corners will create dust storms over the deserts, blow big rigs off exposed, high elevated roads, raise the fire danger as the humidity drops over Southern California as the low excellerates an easterly flow out of the Deserts towards LA and the Socal beaches. 96 degrees yesterday at Anaheim, CA shows the Santa Ana flow is turned out. 6 below zero yesterday morning at Angel Fire resort in New Mexico comes after a foot of snow fell. Illustrating how cold the air aloft is at the base of the trough.

A series of Pacific storms riding the western trough and eastern ridge is creating a wild, energetic pattern across the United States. The cold air drilling into the Rockies that will produce 6-12 inches of snow on both Salt Lake and Denver, will creating a complex weather setup over the Plains where heavy snow and severe weather collide, further east, a strrong flow of heat and moisture out of the Gulf will force 60s into New England before heavy weather hits..
