This morning was my first true feel of winters speedy approach as our wet and unsettled training of Atlantic depressions has been replaced finally by some anticyclonic weather of brilliant sunshine which warms nicely by noon but as it fades around 7.30pm and shadows show up, so too does the chills of early autumn as skies remain very clear and windless. Tonight like last night displays some truly spectacular stars across our skies when you manage to get your eyes away from our unfortunately increasing light pollution problem. The increasingly longer hours of darkness is becoming ever more evident in just how chilly our nights are becoming and frost may form tonight on some fastest-to-cool surfaces such as grass and car roof tops etc. We also had very heavy fog form out in rural areas this morning, especially dense in areas were water from small lakes, streams and canals which remain warm from the summer.
